Reporting a Crime & Filing a Police Report
All incidents and suspicious activity should be reported to the Valparaiso University Police Department immediately.
For Emergencies*
- Call 911,
- Use the 911 emergency blue light phones located across campus,
- Use the yellow emergency call boxes on some campus buildings,
- Or contact the VUPD Dispatch Center at 219.464.5430
Never email or text the Police Department during an emergency situation or when observing suspicious activity. Always call in these situations to ensure a prompt response.
For Non-Emergencies*
- Call the VUPD Dispatch Center at 219.464.5430
- Visit the Police Department at 813 LaPorte Ave. (behind Brown Field)
*A police report will be filed by a VUPD officer after the crime is reported.
