Valpo is committed to helping students become servant leaders to make the world a better place. As Social Justice Scholars, students will be introduced to a variety of subjects to prepare them for careers across the nonprofit, community development, healthcare, and for-profit sectors.

Valpo Students

Social Justice Scholar experiences include:

  • First-year seminar.
  • Weekly colloquium working with community partners.
  • Collaboration with students across majors to design and implement projects to address the needs of campus and local communities.
  • After year one, individual paths of study focused on topics like economics and social policy, social work and community development, philosophy and ethics, global service and development, theology and ecology, and the intersection between leadership and service, community and environmental stewardship, economic development, and social justice.
