The Care and Concerns Committee provides faculty, staff and students with a centralized place to report concerns about students who are experiencing a situation that is impeding their ability to be fully engaged on campus. The team’s purpose is not intended to be reactive or punitive but rather proactive in order to identify students in challenging situations and connect with them before their situation becomes a crisis.
The Valparaiso University Veteran Student Services focuses on the needs of our active duty, reserve, veteran and dependent communities. It is a resource for veterans in regard to academic, personal, and social needs and a vehicle by which veterans can connect to the University and to each other.
The Cornerstone Program at Valparaiso University is a persistence and success program for select first generation college students. The Cornerstone Program provides opportunities for educational and social engagement that promote success and development in the university setting.
SSAs play a crucial role in providing support and assistance to first-year students in their transition and acclimation to college. There is one SSA per floor in the first-year residence galls. SSAs work to connect first-year students with the programs and resources the University has to offer.
