Housing Policies
All residence halls and university-operated apartment facilities are designated nonsmoking, including student rooms and common areas of the building. Common areas include restrooms, kitchens, lounges, computer labs, recreation rooms, lobbies, etc. This policy also includes the prohibited use of e-cigarettes, vape pens, and other related products. Violations of this policy will be subject to disciplinary action. Further, the Tobacco-Free Campus Policy is also applicable to all students.
Information on Residential Life Policies can be found HERE. Additionally, more information can be found in the Student Handbook.

All student mail is delivered to a student’s mailbox within the Harre Union. Neither packages (UPS, FedEx, etc.) nor mail is delivered directly to the halls. A student’s mailing address will be the same as long they live in campus housing. New student’s address (unit #) will be sent via email in July and stays the same for as long as he/she resides on campus. The mailing address format for on-campus students is as follows:
Student Name
1509 Chapel Dr. Unit #_____
Valparaiso, IN 46383
PLEASE NOTE: Do not put Valparaiso University in the address line as this complicates and delays delivery.
