Northwestern Indiana Science Fair — Call for Judges
Valparaiso University will host the 65th annual Northwestern Indiana Science and Engineering Fair on Feb. 24 in the Harre Union Ballroom.
Students in grades 6-12 from schools in Porter, LaPorte, Starke, Jasper, Pulaski and Newton counties and grades 9-12 from Lake County will be participating and competing for many prestigious awards and cash prizes, including scholarships to Valparaiso University.
The science fair begins with judging from 10 a.m. – noon in the Christopher Center Community Room. The exhibit hall will be open to the public for viewing after noon, with an awards ceremony beginning at 4 p.m. Special campus tours of the science and engineering buildings, along with various demonstrations by Valpo students, will take place from 1–3:30 p.m.
Volunteers are needed to serve as judges at the fair from 7:45 a.m to 12:30 p.m.
An 8 a.m. orientation, continental breakfast, and a free buffet lunch will be provided. Interested parties only need experience or interest in any STEM field to participate.
