‘Everything You Know About Being a Writer Is Wrong: Insights on the Publishing Industry’

Being a writer is hard, and being a successful one is even harder. With so many industry myths and pitfalls just ready to snap the unwary, it helps to have a guide. Authors Neal F. Litherland and Meggie Tolkland will be offering their experience to audience members, answering questions and talking about what you have to do aside from writing a great book. Once you’re finished writing, that’s when the real work begins.

Neal F. Litherland has appeared in the anthologies “End of Days” from Pink Petal Books as well as “Sidekicks” from Alliteration Ink. A contributor to the Pathfinder Tales from Paizo, he works primarily in short fiction. For more information find him on Goodreads or his author page on Facebook.

After 30 years of experience writing, editing, and serving in media management, Meggie Tolkland published her first novel, The Mayhem: Roan’s Story, with Asteria Books. The first book in a romantic urban fantasy series, The Mayhem: Roan’s Story was nominated for Best Fiction in the latest Goodreads Readers’ Choice Awards. She is on the Membership and Recruitment Committee of Indiana Writers’ Consortium. A Hoosier native, Meggie is the mother of four children and enjoys walking and reading in her spare time. She keeps a blog here.
