College of Business Maintains Accreditation

A Valpo business degree remains one of the most prestigious in the nation thanks to a recent announcement by a global accrediting agency.

Valpo’s College of Business remains in the top 5 percent of business schools worldwide after retaining its accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). The global group ranks the College among the elite 5 percent of business schools worldwide.

“The College is dedicated to a high-quality learning environment to ensure the success of each student,” said James D. Brodzinski, Ph.D., dean of the College of Business. “AACSB accreditation drives us to exceed these standards and secure the College’s future as an extraordinary university committed to graduating students of promise.”

That promise bears itself out on the bottom line. The College’s most recent survey found 95 percent of 2013-2014 graduates are employed or enrolled in graduate studies.

The college also is annually recognized for the quality of its faculty and value to students in the Midwest and beyond.

“It takes a great deal of commitment and determination to earn and maintain AACSB accreditation,” said Robert D. Reid, executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB International. “Business schools must not only meet specific standards of excellence, but their deans, faculty, and professional staff must make a commitment to continuous improvement to ensure that the institution will continue to deliver the highest quality of education to students.” AACSB International was formed in 1916 to offer accreditation to business schools offering undergraduate, master’s, or doctoral degrees in business and accounting. Its current roster of accredited institutions counts 727 schools in 48 countries and territories.
