SEAC Employee of the Month

Bonnie Dahlke Goebbert, assistant dean for strategic initiatives in the Student Life Division, has been selected as the August 2020 SEAC Employee of the Month.

According to one of her nominators, Bonnie’s leadership skills were invaluable in planning, coordinating, and facilitating the on-campus FOCUS sessions this past summer. “Due to Bonnie’s leadership, the University was able to be one of a very few institutions in the nation to host an in-person orientation program in July. Also, in partnership with others in Student Life, Valpo also completed Welcome Week, which Bonnie organizes for the University. Due to her leadership and relationships on campus, both of these major endeavors occurred without incident and in compliance with all of the COVID-19 protocols.”

Another nominator was impressed by her dedication to teamwork. “Bonnie realizes the importance of teamwork to accomplish the goals of the University and our division. Her leadership skills shine through when working with student interns and student aides to expand their professionalism and knowledge. She leads people into working as a team to find the best solutions. For example, she works closely all year long with each department to support their needs and suggestions in order to facilitate the best possible orientation for our students. She works closely with her colleagues in her division to brainstorm ideas for student engagement, professional development, and assists in any event or issue where they may need it. She is always willing to share her knowledge and assistance with anyone on campus to help ensure our students are getting the best experience possible.”

Congratulations, Bonnie! Thanks for your leadership, your dedication, and your determination to provide exceptional service to our students!
