Always set password recovery options — In Valpo’s Account Management System (AMS), the options for a mobile phone number and alternate (non-Valpo) email address are your recovery options and can be used when you need a password reset. They are a way to identify that you are the person requesting your password reset and not someone else trying to break into your account. Recovery options are especially useful when the Help Desk is closed and unavailable to reset your password for you.

You can use any phone number, whether it is a cell phone or landline. When you request a password reset, you choose whether to receive a text message or a voice call to provide the necessary security code. Likewise, you can use any non-Valpo email address as an alternate; you simply need to be able to access that account to retrieve the security code you’ll receive.

It’s a good idea to periodically check that your recovery options in the AMS are correct. Phone numbers and email addresses can change, and you don’t want to get stuck at the wrong moment by having out-of-date information entered in the system.
