Valparaiso University Graduate Students Present Radio Play

On May 12, graduate students in the arts and entertainment administration program at Valparaiso University will present “The Singer of Shanghai,” a new radio play. This production will be broadcast on YouTube.

“The Singer of Shanghai” tells the story of the Abraham family and their experience escaping the Holocaust. Using information collected by Kevin Ostoyich, Ph.D., department chair and professor of history, students wrote their own script based on articles, interviews, and other materials provided to them. For the first time, surviving Shanghai refugees will join the production cast as guest stars. All are welcome to go on a journey through the past and present of the strength, courage, and camaraderie of the Shanghai Jews.
