Polar Plunge at Valpo held on Feb. 23

WHO: Valparaiso University and the Special Olympics of Indiana come together for the 2019 Polar Plunge, an event to raise awareness and funds to sponsor the Special Olympics throughout the state. This is the eighth year the University will host the event.

WHAT: The Polar Plunge is an annual event where participants who have raised $75 or more are invited to jump into a pool of freezing water. Participants are encouraged to dress up in costumes, and prizes will be given to those who have the best costume, the largest team and those who raised the most money for Special Olympics Indiana. The event is open to the public and free to watch.

All funds raised through the Polar Plunge go toward training and athletic competition for more than 11,000 Special Olympics Indiana athletes.

Participants are encouraged to register online for the Polar Plunge.
