College of Business Alumna Returns to Take Vice President Role

Jill Sifuentes ’04 Schur, M.S. received her B.S. in business administration from Valparaiso University’s College of Business, and is now returning to her alma mater to serve as the new vice president of enrollment and marketing. In this position, she will oversee Undergraduate and Graduate Admission, Financial Aid, and Strategic Enrollment and Marketing Initiatives. She will play a critical role in opening up opportunities for a diverse group of students, while helping to lead the University towards its strategic goals.

“I’m thrilled at the opportunity to return to Valparaiso University, a place that means so much to me and my family,” Jill says.

After graduating in 2004, Jill earned her M.S. in marketing and communication from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Between completing her education and returning to Valpo, Jill has led a 15-year long career in higher education at the Illinois Institute of Technology and Loyola University Chicago, where she held various positions in admission, enrollment, event planning, and administration. Most recently, she served as assistant vice president for graduate and professional enrollment management at Loyola University Chicago.

Jill’s time in Chicago has made her highly qualified to help Valparaiso University make strides in recruiting new students from the area. She has designed and implemented exciting new initiatives that open doors for prospective students, and is a perfect fit for helping Valpo achieve its goals of sustainable growth.

Jill credits her time with the College of Business as an essential part of making her the successful professional she is today.

“My experiences at Valpo’s College of Business were critical to my professional success. I was prepared with a sound business foundation that valued the impact of people,” Jill says. “The faculty had an immeasurable lasting impact and I still regularly refer to and quote some of my favorite professors. I am grateful for the opportunity to build on this school’s legacy and impact across the University.”

Jill took her post at Valparaiso University on Feb. 4, 2023. Outside of her career, Jill is a member of the National Association for College Admission Counselors and the Jesuit Graduate Admission Professionals.
