TOP 5 PLACES TO DINE AROUND VALPO

Downtown Valparaiso is known for its homey, yet sophisticated feel, and the restaurants and cafés that line Lincolnway have become an essential part of our students’ college experience.

To help those of you who may not be familiar with what downtown Valpo has to offer, we have compiled a list of the top 5 places to dine around campus. Have fun exploring!

  1. Furin Japanese Restaurant and Bar: Here you will find the best sushi in town in a small cozy setting right on Lincolnway. Furin is known for its sushi and various other authentic Japanese cuisines. Their reviews also highlight their great service and moderate prices. They are closed on Tuesdays, and their hours change throughout the week, so make sure to check their website before heading over. Location: 21 Lincolnway
  2. BluePoint Oyster and Sushi: If you are a seafood lover, then check out this restaurant known for its sushi and delicious seafood. Their menu includes seafood favorites like shrimp, lobster, and salmon, and for those looking to try something new, the frog legs are quite the crowd-pleaser. Location: 13 E Lincolnway
  3. Stacks Bar and Grill: One of Valpo’s more unique restaurants, Stacks Bar and Grill is a restaurant that is inspired by a library setting that serves Italian cuisine. There are a couple of options for dining: the main level, or the rooftop. Anyone who has dined on the rooftop will tell you the view can’t be beat, unless, of course, we are talking about the food. The menu is constantly rotating so if you like to try something new in a unique setting give Stacks a try. Location: 175 Lincolnway
  4. Industrial Revolution Eatery and Grille: This one is right next to campus, and perfect for a chill night out. The menu includes delicious comfort foods like brick oven pizza, burgers, and fried pickles, but they are famous for their oversized burgers. Location: 1084 Linwood Avenue
  5. Meditrina Market Café: If you are on the search for top-notch Middle Eastern food at a reasonable price, then search no more! Meditrina has great service and delicious food. Their falafel sandwich will not disappoint, and if you are feeling in the mood for something more, try the paprika chicken and spiced rice. You will be coming back for more every time the study mood hits. Location: 24 Washington Street
