The Christmas Star: An Astronomer’s Investigation into the Identity of the Star

The Gospel according to Matthew, in recounting the birth of Jesus, records a visit by magi who were led by a star. What was that star? Various suggestions have been made over the years, some miraculous and some astronomical, including several by the famous 17th century astronomer Johannes Kepler. Bruce Hrivnak, Ph.D., senior research professor of astronomy will review and critically examined as the identity of this star is explored.
