Valpo COVID Stories – Check out this week’s special edition of the Torch student newspaper for personal stories from Valpo students, faculty, and staff about their experiences through the pandemic. Be sure to follow valpotorch for new weekly content.

5K For The Kids – Run/Walk/Jog the annual FT5K fundraiser for Dance Marathon this Saturday morning. Runners check-in opens at 8:30 a.m., depart at 9 a.m.; joggers check-in opens at 9 a.m., depart at 9:30 a.m.; walkers check-in opens at 9:30 a.m., depart at 10 a.m. The cost is $12 to participate which includes an FT5K tshirt. All proceeds go to Dance Marathon’s fundraising for Lurie Children’s Hospital. Register here if you want to participate.

Interested in Joining a Sorority? On Sunday, September 27 from 12:00-3:00pm on the West Lawn, Panhellenic Council is hosting a Sorority Fall Day as an opportunity for students to learn more about Sorority Life at Valpo while doing some fall crafts. We are asking attendees to use this form to RSVP for a time to attend.

Rec Sports Hosts Virtual 5K Competition – Run/Walk/Jog as many 5Ks between Sept. 25 and Oct. 25 as you want, on whatever route you want, and submit your post-run/walk summary screenshot to enter. Last Chance: Inman’s Offers Valpo Student Special – Inman’s Bowling & Recreation Center is offering buy 1 game of bowling get 2 free (1 person per set of 3 games; shoe rental not included) to students showing their OneCard now through Sept. 30. The deal is good any day & time that lanes are available.

Be a Mentor for a Kid (Virtually) – College Mentors for Kids is now taking applications from current Valpo students to mentor a local elementary school kid. College Mentors is also looking for Valpo students to serve on its leadership team (general managers, engagement managers, and an activity director). Mentors and kids get together once per week to do activities in the late afternoon, after the elementary school day is complete.
