LEADs Announcement for 2020–2021 Cohort

Valparaiso University is pleased to announce a new program designed to enhance professional development and improve communication and leadership skills for faculty and staff. Leadership Education Across Departments (LEADs) will begin in August of 2020.

The program serves faculty and staff who are interested in developing their skills and learning more about Valparaiso University as an organization. Self-nominations are encouraged.

Individuals in the program meet approximately two times a month for 90 minutes each time during the 2020–2021 academic year. Additionally, each participant will meet monthly with their leadership mentor. To learn more about the LEADs program, please visit the website.

Any staff or faculty member who would like to be considered for one of the 12 spots in this program should write a brief, 1–1.5 page letter that identifies their reasons for wanting to participate, their background, and the way in which they hope to use their leadership skills. Applicants must also include a brief note from their immediate supervisor indicating the supervisor’s support of the nominee.
