Frederick Niedner, Th.D., to Deliver Valparaiso University Commencement Address

Valparaiso University will celebrate Winter Commencement on Sunday, Dec. 9, at 2:30 p.m., conferring degrees upon 218 undergraduate, graduate and law students.

The keynote speaker is Frederick Niedner, Th.D., who serves as a senior research professor at Valparaiso University and taught biblical studies in Valpo’s theology department for 40 years. He has served as a frequent homilist for the Chapel of the Resurrection in addition to terms of service as department chair, freshman seminar director, director of the University’s Teaching Resource Center and Cambridge Seminar for new faculty, and associate director of the Institute of Liturgical Studies at Valparaiso University.

Still a frequent conference speaker and workshop leader, Niedner writes for numerous publications that support the ministry of preaching, and for more than 20 years his fortnightly op-ed columns have appeared in the Chicago Tribune’s Northwest Indiana edition, the Post-Tribune.

Niedner received his Th.D. from Christ Seminary — Seminex and his STM and M.Div. from Concorida Seminary, St. Louis.
