Community Leader Dana Rifai ’07 J.D. to Deliver Valparaiso University Commencement Address
Valparaiso University will celebrate Winter Commencement on Sunday, Dec. 10, at 2:30 p.m., conferring degrees upon 227 undergraduate, graduate and law students.
The keynote speaker is Dana Rifai ’07 J.D., who is a partner at Burke Costanza and Carberry Law Firm. She initiated the firm’s immigration practice, focusing on employment, business and family immigration matters. She is also a member of the firm’s business practice group and counsels clients in business, estate planning and probate matters.
Rifai is an active member of the Northwest Indiana community, serving as a curator of TedxCountyLineRoad and as a board member for the Legacy Foundation and Avicenna Academy. She also participates in the Porter County Community Foundation’s initiative, @PCgivingproject, an endowment fund for children’s causes in Porter County, Indiana. In 2016, Rifai was named one of the “20 under 40” in business by the Northwest Indiana Times Media Group.
Rifai received her bachelor’s degree from Indiana University-Purdue University and her law degree from Valparaiso Law School.
