Valpo receives top honors in 2017 MarCom, CASE District Awards

Valparaiso University has received two Pride of CASE V awards from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District Five, as well as six MarCom awards, an international competition for marketing and communication professionals.

The Forever Valpo: The Campaign for Our Future case statement earned the CASE Gold Award (the highest honor) for Best Program in Case Statements/Cultivation Publications and a Platinum MarCom Award (the highest honor). The Forever Valpo launch video also received a Platinum MarCom Award, while the Forever Valpo campaign identity earned a Bronze CASE Award in the Excellence in Graphic Identity/Logo category.

Forever Valpo: The Campaign for Our Future, is a $250 million endowment campaign focused on raising permanent support for student scholarships, faculty development and programs that prepare students for lives of leadership and service. The Campaign was officially launched on Sept. 23, 2016, and has raised more than $162 million.

Additionally, Valpo’s 2016–2017 Academic Brochure and VALPO Magazine Volume 32 Issue 1 Spring/Summer 2016, featuring SurvivorVision founder Julia O’Malley ’96 Stepenske, received Platinum MarCom Awards, while the 2016–2017 Viewbook and Travel Brochure received Gold MarCom Awards.

CASE is an international association of education advancement officers, and District Five includes more than 400 member institutions in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin. The Pride of CASE V Awards showcase best practices in alumni relations, fundraising, advancement services, special events and outstanding communications. The awards will be presented at the CASE V Conference in Chicago on Dec. 11, 2017.

MarCom Awards honors excellence in marketing and communication while recognizing the creativity, hard work and generosity of industry professionals. Since its inception in 2004, MarCom has evolved into one of the largest, most-respected creative competitions in the world. Each year about 6,000 print and digital entries are submitted from dozens of countries.
