Valparaiso University Graduate Placement Exceeds 90 Percent for 23 Consecutive Years
More than 90 percent of recent Valpo graduates are employed or enrolled in graduate school for the 23rd straight year.
The overall placement rate for 2014-2015 alumni is 92.6 percent. Each year, Valparaiso University’s Career Center sponsors nearly 100 career preparation opportunities including networking events, mock interviews, panel discussions and professional development workshops. In addition, the Career Center hosts two major career fairs, both with more than 100 employers in attendance.
“Our graduates leave Valpo prepared for a world of infinite possibilities,” said Mark A. Heckler, Ph.D., president. “Valpo students and alumni combine an exceptional education with virtues of integrity and character and make a tremendous impact on the world, through rewarding careers and lives of purpose.
Highlights of the 2016 Graduate Report include:
- Graduates are working or studying in 35 states and the District of Columbia. More than 37 percent of 2014-2015 alumni work or attend graduate school in Indiana.
- Twenty respondents are involved in full-time service: four at AmeriCorps, nine at Lutheran Volunteer Corps, one each at American Red Cross, Catholic Charities, Christ the King Jesuit Volunteer, City Year, Young Adults in Global Mission, Jesuit Volunteer Corps, and the University of Illinois at Chicago.
- Two respondents are in the Armed Forces: the Air Force and Coast Guard.
- One alumnus is teaching on a Fulbright scholarship in Taiwan.
