Valparaiso University Presents “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street”

WHO: Sponsored by the Department of Theatre at Valparaiso University, the performance features students from across disciplines at Valpo. The show is directed by Lee Orchard, theatre department chair, with music directed by Dennis Friesen-Carper, Frederick A. and Mazie N. Reddel Professor of Music.

WHAT: “Sweeney Todd” is a musical thriller that tells the chilling, suspenseful tale of murderous barbarism and culinary crime. With music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by Hugh Wheeler, this heart-pounding masterpiece centers around an unjustly exiled barber who returns to 19th-century London to seek revenge against those who ruined him.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for senior citizens and non-Valpo students.

WHEN: Wednesday, Nov. 13, and Thursday, Nov. 14 at 8 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 16, and Sunday, Nov. 17, at 2 p.m.
