Time Remains to Take Part in Spirit of Valpo Challenge

The Spirit of Valpo Challenge was made possible by two generous alumni, Tim ’76 and Leslie (Hallman ’77) Paul, loyal alumni and parents of a current Valpo junior. The Challenge seeks to encourage alumni and friends to stay connected to the University through their support. The first gift from each donor that qualifies for the Spirit of Valpo Challenge will be matched with an additional $100 added to it, no matter what the initial size of the gift may have been.

More than 2,100 new donors have participated in the Challenge by making a gift to the Valpo Fund. That means more than $210,000 just in funds matched by the Pauls will go to scholarships for undergraduate students. This kind of support would not have been possible without the enthusiasm and passion offered by the Valparaiso University alumni, parents, and friends.

Gifts to the Valpo Fund enable the University to offer the best possible education for our students, such as scholarships, Lutheran heritage, student experience, and academic excellence Without the scholarships provided through the Valpo Fund, many students could not afford to receive the high-quality and rigorous education Valpo offers. Likewise, our facilities and programs preserve Valpo’s legacy through these gifts.

The Pauls’ generosity, however, has not yet reached completion. They have agreed to continue the Spirit of Valpo Challenge for up to 2,500 donors in support of the Valpo Fund through June 30. That means nearly 400 new donors have an opportunity to make their gift count for even more.

Many students leave campus saying the thing that they will remember most about Valpo is the community of which they were a part. Help keep that community alive for current and future students with your support. Please visit valpo.edu/givetovu/challenge/ for more information and to have your gift matched today.
