Valparaiso University Hosts Dance Ensemble Feb. 7-10
VALPARAISO, Ind. — Valparaiso University’s Dance Ensemble features choreographers and dancers representing nearly every college within the University, and its members all share one common interest – to dance and share their passion for dance with their community. This passion will come to the stage Feb. 7-8 at 8 p.m. and Feb. 9-10 at 2 p.m. in the University Theatre. Tickets for Valpo performances are $15 for adults and $10 for senior citizens and non-Valpo students. Admission is free for Valpo students, faculty, and staff with ID card.

The Dance Ensemble provides an opportunity for student choreographers and dancers to challenge themselves artistically and physically as they pursue their various academic paths. This year’s concert features an eclectic mix of dance styles ranging from classical ballet to tribal inspired movement. It contains original pieces conceived and choreographed by Valpo students and faculty.
“What started as a very small student run organization more than 16 years ago has grown and evolved into the group of dedicated young men and women you will see performing this year,” said Ann Kessler, director of the Dance Ensemble. “It is their energy, creativity, and willingness to strive for something more than themselves that inspires the next generation of Valpo Dance Ensemble members and me.”
