Loyola Stritch is now accepting applications for ASPIRE
Greetings,

Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine is now accepting applications for our 2017 ASPIRE Program. The program offers four, one-week sessions designed to help applicants prepare a competitive application and learn more about social justice in medicine.  ASPIRE offers small group learning, focus on leadership and advocacy skills, and mentorship from Stritch faculty and students.
Below is a quick description of the one week ASPIRE modules:

Applicant Boot Camp (ABC)
ASPIRE ABC module is an intensive experience designed to have students ready to submit their AMCAS application upon completion.  Participants will receive support and guidance for all aspects of the admissions process including (but not limited to) strategies for choosing schools, primary and secondary applications, and preparing for interviews.  Participants hear from current physicians, clarify their personal motivation for medicine, and learn more about life at Stritch by spending a week with us.  Rising second year students assist Stritch staff and faculty in delivering the program.

Health Equity & Advocacy Leaders (HEAL)
ASPIRE HEAL introduces students to social determinants of health, health disparities, and strategies to achieve greater health equity through community partnership.  HEAL is centered on the Stritch mission of increasing health and health access for underserved communities and the responsibilities of physicians as advocates and change agents.  Participants learn from faculty, staff, students and community partners about innovative ways to address the needs of marginalized and underserved communities.  HEAL module topics are designed with input from our teen community partners, Champions for Change, from Maywood.  The program is led by Stritch staff, faculty, community partners and rising second year students.

Registration fees are $250 per week without housing or $380 per week with housing. Full and partial need-based scholarships are available.
If you have any further questions, feel free to contact us directly at 708.216.3220.
The application deadline is February 17, 2017. For more information and to apply for ASPIRE visit our website.
