Student News Valparaiso Immigration Clinic Valparaiso Immigration Clinic students Danielle DeWinter and Brian Casson capped off their law school experience by winning asylum for a Congolese man. The trial-type hearing in the Chicago Immigration Court occurred on Monday, May 12. The students have spent the last year preparing for the hearing--interviewing their client about the traumatic experiences he endured in the Republic of Congo, gathering supporting evidence, drafting affidavits and a brief, locating expert witnesses, and communicating with fact witnesses in the Congo. Office of Admissions' Admitted Student Events The Office of Admissions hosted two admitted student open houses on March 20 and April 25. There were 67 students in attendance, and 88% have thus far committed to attending Valparaiso Law. Thank you to the faculty, staff, and current students that help make these events a huge success.
