Students – Learn with LINC
The Language and Intercultural Learning Center facilities intercultural learning opportunities for all Valpo students. As the LINC center launches this fall, we are developing ways for students to pursue intercultural development in a variety of ways. Some opportunities will include:
— Prompts for reflection and response
— Language groups
— Programming & events
— Intercultural exploration & assessment
We are eager for you to get involved with LINC! Feel free to stop by the center in ASB 240 and talk with a student staff member or LINC Director Carol Goss.
Reflect & Respond Engage with new displays featured within the center space that invite you to reflect and respond to an intercultural prompt.
Language Groups Join a student-led language group. The process of exploring a new language in a fun and informal setting is a great way to begin intercultural learning.
Programming & Events Participate in a language or intercultural event such as our “Matters of Language” series launched last spring, and “Las Posadas” on Dec. 3. We’re also planning a mini film series for the spring.
Intercultural Exploration & Assessment Explore books, films, and podcasts with an intercultural perspective. Students may be invited by a professor or work supervisor to take the “IDI,” an online assessment that measures intercultural competence.
