Origin: Film and discussion
Part of MLK Day celebration week
Origin is a powerful film that carefully explores social caste systems in India and Nazi Germany in order to better understand the early origins of American race relations and its present-day remnants. This biographical drama is based on the book Caste, The Origins of Our Discontents, written by American journalist and Pulitzer Prize winner Isabel Wilkerson.
Film screening: Tue, Jan 21, 6 – 8:30 pm (with a brief intermission)
Film discussion: Wed, Jan 22, 7 – 8 pm
Location: Loke Hall
Discussion facilitated by staff members from LINC, the OMP, and the Chapel. Snacks provided at both events.
