Der Nachmärz: How to Commemorate a Failure
Jan 28 & 29
Origin: Film & discussion
Origin is a powerful film that carefully explores social caste systems in India and Nazi Germany in order to better understand the early origins of American race relations and its present-day remnants. This biographical drama is based on the book Caste, The Origins of Our Discontents, written by American journalist and Pulitzer Prize winner Isabel Wilkerson. This event is part of Valpo’s MLK Day celebration.
