Andrew Knox
International Experience
Andrew lived in Japan from preschool through high school, attaining conversational proficiency in Japanese. Following completion of a bachelor’s degree in international studies from Bob Jones University (South Carolina), he taught English in China for four years in the northeastern cities of Changchun and Harbin, gaining upper-intermediate skill in Mandarin Chinese. He has also visited Cyprus, Fiji, Singapore, and Cambodia. He came to Valpo in 2012 to earn a Master’s degree in International Commerce and Policy, completing it in 2014 while at the same time beginning to work in the Valpo Office of International Programs.
Hobbies
- Basketball (playing and watching), especially the Valpo Beacons.
- Traveling, anywhere off the beaten path.
- Trying all kinds of international cuisines; favorites are Chinese, Japanese, Indian, and Middle Eastern.
