Audit Data
The Office of Sustainability recently performed a comprehensive waste audit of all campus buildings to identify opportunities to save money, reduce waste, and to promote better waste management and recycling practices. The data collected from this audit will give a baseline of the university’s plastic consumption, as well as show areas of concern and improvement. Some results of this audit were:
- 42% of all material (by volume) sorted was plastic
- 41% of waste was recyclable, and 59% was non-recyclable.
- 32% recycling contamination rate
- 60 waste diversion recommendations
