While researching civil rights history in the Midwest as part of his senior capstone project, Simeon Klepac ’25 stumbled upon a 1934 incident at Indiana Dunes State Park. The discovery sent him across the state of Indiana to a plethora of archives and historical sites to peel back the layers of an untold story and paint a vivid picture of segregation-era struggles in Northwest Indiana.
