Majors
The CVA department offers flexible degree paths for students who want to develop the most essential skills of expression and creative collaboration. Majors in the CVA department prepare students for work in the constantly evolving fields of communication, digital media arts, and studio arts. Internships are required for most majors.
ART
An Art major is for the aspiring artist who chooses to investigate the studio arts and more traditional methods of creating a portfolio. A major in art can lead to careers in the fine arts, gallery sales, museum curation, photography, digital arts, or education.
COMMUNICATION
The communication major provides students with a wide variety of skill sets valuable in practically any profession, including public speaking, written communication, visual communication, and rhetorical responsibility. This program is flexible, offering a curriculum that can include tracks in journalism or public relations.
DIGITAL MEDIA ARTS
The digital media arts major focuses on producing digital content in state-of-the-art video, audio, and graphics production studios and editing labs, while at the same time learning the professional and legal requirements associated with digital content. A digital media arts major can lead to careers in video and audio production and editing, branding and advertising, graphic design, and web design.
