Baccalaureate Service
Baccalaureate Service will be held on Friday, May 9 at 5 p.m. in the Chapel of the Resurrection.
About the Service:
- The Baccalaureate Service is a faith-based celebration of Valparaiso University’s graduates. We know that one’s years at Valpo are not only a time of rich intellectual and social development; but they are also a time of spiritual growth and intentional service. As such, we’ve set aside this evening to mark the journey of every Valparaiso University student by hearing from a sample of our graduates. They will tell their stories of faith and service and, in doing so, will call all of us to reflect on the gifts we’ve received at Valpo and give thanks to God, the giver of all good things.
- The service will be an internal campus celebration of our graduates — a bookend to your time at Valpo, much like the Opening Convocation Ceremony. A procession of graduates accompanied by faculty and staff in support will move from the Union Atrium Lobby into the Chapel. Graduates are encouraged to invite a faculty or staff member who has been significant to their time at Valpo to walk with them. All campus community members will be seated together. Please gather (in your commencement regalia) in the Union Atrium Lobby at 4:30 p.m. for the procession.
