Brett M. Calland joined Valparaiso University in 2004 serving as a Lecturer specializing in first-year courses critical to the student experience. He has taught extensively in the first-year program, as well as in the academic success courses, the exploratory discernment courses, and his academic area, History. Most recently joining the College of Business from Christ College, the honors college, where he worked as the Assistant to the Dean. He received his B.S. in History and 6-12 Education, from Manchester University, before going onto Ball State University to earn his first Master of Arts in History. Brett has also earned a second Master of Arts, in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, from Valparaiso University in 2008. He serves as the Advising and Practical Experience Coordinator for the College of Business. As academic advisor, he helps students build and navigate their four-year plan to graduation. He also supports students as they seek out at least one internship experience and teaches the co-requisite internship course MGT-395.
