How do I apply to Valpo MBA?

Step 1:
Complete an online application & pay the application fee. Start your application at valpo.edu/mba/apply.

Tip! Be sure to include your intended entry term and whether you will attend Full-time or Part-Time.
Tip! Visit us and your fee will be waived.

Step 2:
Request official electronic transcripts from all universities/colleges attended.

Tip! Have the institutions email the transcripts directly to Graduate.School@valpo.edu.

Step 3:
Request 2 Letters of Recommendation by completing this form. 

Tip! Ask a current or former supervisor, coach, or instructor. Recommendations from friends, family members, or employees will not be accepted.

Step 4:
Upload a Reflective Essay & Resume to your portal

• 1 page essay explaining how a Valpo MBA will help you reach your career goals

• Resume listing all work and leadership experience

Tip! If you would like to be considered for a GMAT waiver, include your request in your essay.

Step 5:
If a GMAT/GRE is requested, take the test before June 30. Use institution code 1874 to have scores sent directly to Valpo MBA.

Tip! Study for at least two months prior to taking the test to get your best score.

Permanent Residents should also submit: a measure of English proficiency and Proof of Residency in addition to other application requirements.

How do I apply to Valpo MBA?

Step 1:
Complete an online application & pay the application fee. Applications may be submitted up to 1 year prior to your intended start date. Start your application at valpo.edu/mba/apply.

Tip! Be sure to include your intended entry term of Fall 1. The Full-time Global MBA has 1 start date per year in August.

Step 2:
Upload unofficial transcripts and a diploma certificate from all universities/colleges attended.

Tip! If admitted, be prepared to provide official transcripts with both original and English translations of all university courses in which you have been enrolled.

Step 3:
Request 2 Letters of Recommendation by completing this form. 

Tip! Ask a current or former supervisor or instructor. Recommendations from friends, family members, or employees will not be accepted. 

Step 4:
Upload a Reflective Essay, Resume, copy of passport, Certification of Finances form, and bank statement.

• Copy of current passport showing your full name and date of birth

• Certification of Finances form found here

• Bank statement showing at least $37,020 USD

Step 5:
Submit official measure of English proficiency and GMAT/GRE scores.

• English proficiency may be demonstrated by the following: TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, CAE, ESL program. Take your English Proficiency test before January 31. Use institution code 1874 to have scores sent directly to Valpo MBA.

• If a GMAT/GRE is requested, take the test before April 30th. Use institution code 1874 to have scores sent directly to Valpo MBA.

Tip! Study for at least 2 months prior to taking your English Proficiency test, and at least 3-4 months prior to taking your GMAT/GRE, to get your best scores.

Do I have to be a business major to apply to Valpo MBA?

Valpo MBA is open to all majors! Admission decisions are made with a holistic view, based upon past academic performance, test scores, work experience and interview. We encourage you to apply whatever your level of work experience or test scores.

Is a GMAT/GRE required for the MBA?

A GMAT/GRE is required for most MBA programs to measure quantitative ability, and verbal and written English proficiency. We recommend that you study for your test for at least 2 months, and take the test by the application deadline, in order to allow enough time to study and do well:

Does the Valpo MBA require work experience?

No work experience is required to apply to Valpo MBA. Even better, while enrolled at Valpo MBA, you will gain experience to put on your resume, by working on company projects!

How long will it take to earn my Valpo MBA?

The Valpo MBA is only 12 courses! Part-time students can complete the MBA in as little as 2 years.

How much does it cost & how can I pay for my MBA?

Tuition for the entire MBA Program is only $30,000 USD, a great value for a Chicagoland AACSB-Accredited MBA! There are many ways for students to pay for their Valpo MBA including:

• Employer Reimbursement: check with your employer

• Tuition Remission/Exchange: if employed by a college or university

• Loans (including FAFSA)

• Payment Plans

How do I prepare for MBA courses (prerequisite material)?

The Valpo MBA is an accelerated managerial program that enhances analytical, quantitative, and presentation skills to prepare you for leadership in a team environment.

Valpo MBA courses are graduate-level advanced business courses taught at an accelerated pace. Prior to starting the MBA, students are expected to learn or review the basics of accounting, finance, economics, and statistics. Software, online courses, websites, and videos are available to help you prepare for these courses.

Students that are not adequately prepared with the prerequisite material risk failure of these accelerated advanced courses.
