Since 1967, Valparaiso University’s honors college, Christ College, has been drawing in honors students who see the world through anything-is-possible eyes. One of the first honors colleges established in the United States, Christ College is comprised of forward thinkers like you who’ve demonstrated superior academic achievement and extracurricular involvement in high school.

‘‘I love biology, chemistry, and health sciences; but those classes tend to be designed for the individual, involving memorizing facts and applying concepts for specific applications. Christ College classes are about being human and part of a group — the community I found in Christ College is unlike any other. I created amazing friendships within my cohort and was guaranteed a thought-provoking conversation each week. Even though it was sometimes challenging to balance both the PA program and Christ College, I would do it all over again.

No matter what you choose to study, CC is a perfect match with your program of choice. At many schools, healthcare-focused students can’t participate fully in honors programs due to complicated schedules, but pairing a College of Nursing and Health Professions degree with Christ College’s distinctive interdisciplinary program provides significant benefits to Valpo graduates. Our engineering graduates who participated in Christ College not only have the technical skills to be successful after college, but they also have the ability to understand more thoroughly the societal and economic contexts of the engineering problems that we face today and will face tomorrow. Business graduates who participated in Christ College have not only the expertise and skills to be successful after college, but are also confident communicators with a broader perspective on their professional work. Moreover, the interdisciplinary honors curriculum encourages students to think outside the box, approaching problems and questions from multiple angles, perspectives, and disciplines.
