Apply as an Undergraduate Student
We’ve given you two ways to apply:
- Apply Online — this is the fastest, most convenient way for all prospective undergraduate students to apply, including transfer and international students
- Apply with the Common App — this is the best option if you want to apply to several colleges at once, but it’s only available to U.S. students. Please request to have your official high school or college transcripts sent to: transcripts@valpo.edu. Your admission decision will be released in your student portal within 4-6 weeks from the time from the time we receive your application and official transcripts.
It’s not too late to apply to Valparaiso University!
We know college decisions take time, and we want to make sure you have every opportunity to find the right fit. That’s why we’re offering a late decision application round — giving you extra time to apply and join our welcoming Valpo community.
Key Dates for Late Decision:
- April 13 — Application deadline
- April 18 — Admission decisions sent (sooner if you apply earlier!)
- March 29 & April 12 — Admitted Student Days (visit campus, meet students and faculty)
- April 26 — Valpo Bound Day (a special opportunity for admitted students to visit campus)
- May 1 — National College Decision Day (extensions available!)
- May 3 — Valpo Grad Party – Deposited students come celebrate with us!
Bonus! Visit Valpo, file your FAFSA by April 15, and submit your deposit by May 1 to receive a $1,000/year visit award (up to four years).

Access College
Valparaiso University believes in providing a quality college education to young adults from all walks of life. For students who are looking for an alternative college experience, we created a two-year program called the Access College for Success.
Our application is free, and we do not require SAT or ACT scores or recommendation letters, but you are welcome to submit them if you would like to. If you have any questions, please contact your admission counselor.

- Official transcripts are sent directly from your high school. If you have questions about submitting official transcripts, please reach out to your high school counselor. We cannot accept transcripts submitted by students or their parents.

Apply as a Graduate Student
Valpo’s graduate admission process is as easy and busy-student-focused as our flexible, affordable, career-focused grad programs themselves. Here’s what you need to know:
Graduate Admission Qualifications
To qualify for admission into one of Valpo’s doctoral, master’s, or post-baccalaureate certificate programs, you must:
- Graduate from an accredited college or university
- Earn a 3.0 GPA in all undergraduate and/or graduate coursework
- Submit all required documents for domestic or international citizenship (see below)
To apply to one of Valpo’s graduate programs, U.S. citizens and permanent residents must submit:
- Valpo’s graduate application. Returning students who have missed two consecutive semesters must complete Valpo’s Re-admission Application.
- Official transcripts from all university courses you’ve taken. Unofficial transcripts can be uploaded to the application portal during the admission process. All official transcripts must be submitted prior to the start of classes.
- Two recommendation letters from professors or employers.
- A statement of purpose that describes why you are applying to Valpo, your interest in the degree program, and how it affects your personal and professional development. This can be 1–2 pages and should speak directly to the graduate program of interest.
Graduate Studies strongly recommends uploading all application requirements to your application portal. Submit questions about your application documents to grad@valpo.edu.
