PROJECT NEXT
Shane Drew, assistant professor of mathematics and computer science, was
selected as a 2009-2010 Project NExT Fellow.  Project NExT is a
professional development program for new or recent Ph.D.s in the
mathematical sciences.  It addresses all aspects of an academic career:
improving the teaching and learning of mathematics, engaging in research
and scholarship, and participating in professional activities.   It also
provides the participants with a network of peers and mentors as they
assume these responsibilities.   As a Project NExT Fellow, Shane will
participate in workshops at the 2009 MAA MathFest conference in
Portland, OR from August 3-8, 2009, the 2010 Joint Math Meetings in San
Francisco, CA from January 13-16, 2010, and the 2010 MAA MathFest
conference in Pittsburgh, PA from August 3-7, 2010.
