Library instruction today is so much more than the age-old "tour of the library!" With so many changes in information content and format, students (and faculty) are often at a disadvantage in trying to keep up with such changes on their own. The Instruction Services team works hard to bring the goals you have for your students' research assignments into step with today's research options, making it the best possible experience for the students.
Fill out the form below for all library orientation sessions, course-related instruction, and research paper consultation for groups or individuals. VU faculty interested in scheduling course-related group instruction sessions are asked to contact the Instruction Office two weeks prior to the date of requested instruction. This helps us to ensure that the proper staff, facilities, and resources will be available for your class.
Each instructor is asked to send a copy of the class syllabus and library/research assignment to the Instruction Office at the time of the initial request. For the benefit of the your class and librarian, we also ask you to be present at the instruction session with the class.
If you are using this form to request your academic use of CLR 261A or 261B, please do NOT fill out this form, but go to our room reservation request form. Filling out this form will delay the receipt of your request.
This is a request to have a librarian teach research skills to my class. Please use this request form even if the session doesn't take place in 261A or 261B. If the location is CLR 261A or 261B, the librarian will take care of the room reservation during this process.
If so, how can they be accommodated?
