GroupWise 8 Client Upgrade:

What’s New in the Windows Desktop Client

• Improved interface with an updated look and feel:
  • Panels- to customize your view of information in GroupWise.
  • Time Zone synchronization with your workstation.
  • Display Settings – Your display settings can be sent to others to be imported by them into their client.
• New folders:
  • Tasklist Folder – replaces the old Checklist folder with new tracking functions.
• E-Mail Improvements:
  • Auto Save - GroupWise automatically saves a copy of the item you are composing every 30 seconds.
  • Editing Attachment - Edit attachments and save them to the original item.
  • Third-Party Composers – You can now compose messages in Microsoft Word and OpenOffice.
• Calendar improvements:
  • Publishing and subscribing to Internet Calendars.
  • Displaying additional Time Zones.
• Address Book Enhancements:
  • Importing and Exporting Contacts:
    • You can now import contacts form the Contacts folder instead of opening the Address Book.
    • Import and export from a CSV file.
  • Contacts Folder – Quicker access to your personal address books
  • Contact Birthday/Anniversary – Contact birthday or anniversary can be set to show as a reminder note in the calendar.
  • Address Card View – Allows you to add a picture to a contact.
• Other Enhancements:
  • Rules – New vacation rule wizard.
  • Quick Find – Filter has been replaces with a Find button on the toolbar.
  • Categories – You can quickly search on similar categories directly from the item list.

• Improved Interface:
  • Nav Bar – Can show folders you use most.
  • Customizable Toolbar – Add or remove items from your toolbar
  • Panels – Customize your view in GroupWise
  • Customizable Date and Time Formats
  • Categories- Lets you organize your items.
  • New Folder Types:
    • Home Folder – Represents your GroupWise database.
    • Tasklist Folder – Replaces and expands upon the old Checklist folder.
• Notify – The GroupWise 8 Linux/Mac client now includes Notify which informs you when you receive an item or when it’s time for an appointment.
• Search Improvements – You can now use the Find field to quickly find an item.
• Email Improvements:
  • Item Personalization – Click the Personalize tab to add personal to any email you receive.
  • External Account Support – Supports POP3, IMAP4, and NNTP
  • Delayed E-Mail Delivery – Delay an email to be sent at a different date and time.
  • Concealed E-Mail Subjects
  • E-Mail Expiration Date – Automatically deletes E-Mail from recipient’s mailbox when the message expires.
• Calendar Improvements:
  • Multiple Personal Calendars
  • Shared Calendars
  • Calendar Customization – Includes changeable calendar colors, date and time formats.
  • Multiple Time Zone Support

• Improved Interface:
  • Scrollable Item Lists: Displays all items in your mailbox, rather than 20 items at a time.
  • Time Zone Synchronization with your workstation.
  • Tasklist Folder – Replaces the old Checklist Folder.
• E-Mail Improvements:
  • Auto Save – Automatically saves a copy of the item you are composing ever 10 – 60 seconds.
  • HTML Options - You can view and compose messages in Plain Text or HTML Format.
  • Spell Check
  • Name Completion – When addressing a new message, the system automatically searches for the name as you begin to type.
• Calendar Improvements:
  • Graphical Calendar Interface – allows you to display calendars by Day, Week or Year view.
  • Multiple Personal Calendars
  • Aggregated Shared Calendars – Display different calendars by different colors.
  • Publish Internet Calendars – Copies your personal calendar to the Calendar Publishing Host Server.
