Computing and Information Sciences
The Computing and Information Sciences department at Valparaiso University offers computer science and information technology courses to undergraduate and graduate students that help them to understand, evaluate, automate, and improve processes — skills that can be applied to almost any problem in any field.
Computer Science (BS, BA) and the CS minor
MS in Cyber Security, and
MS in Information Technology
A flexible undergraduate computer science major curriculum with BS and BA options, a minor, two master of science programs in cybersecurity and information technology, and three graduate certificates in information technology offer thorough training in the principles of their fields, along with a plethora of elective courses that allow students to apply their training to a wide variety of fields.
All Majors Welcome!
By removing barriers to enrollment wherever possible, the department encourages non-majors to sample its course offerings. Many challenging and valuable upper-level courses have just one or two prerequisites. In addition, students are encouraged to apply for the Early Entry option to the MS in Information Technology or Cyber Security programs.
