VARIETY OF WORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Note: The Chapel's fall worship schedule begins with Welcome Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009. The first day of Morning Prayer is Aug. 25th.

There are few places with a greater range of worship styles and opportunities than the campus of Valparaiso University. And it’s not variety for variety’s sake, but out of respect for the varied backgrounds of students and their changing needs as they grow on our campus.

There is one service every Sunday morning (10:00 a.m.) and one on Sunday evening (10:00 p.m.) when classes are in session. The morning services vary with the season and mark the whole life and ministry of Jesus over the course of the year. Holy Communion is offered Sunday morning.

The single most frequent worship opportunity is Morning Prayer at 11:15 a.m. each class day. Worship styles change from day to day, season to season, with music ranging from ancient to contemporary. Morning Prayer is a time for students, faculty, and staff to gather as a community of faith, share space in the pew, hear God’s word, pray, and give praise.

If you’re looking for contemporary worship and praise with a casual style, then Celebrate! is the place. Come to Gloria Christi Chapel Wednesdays at 10:00 p.m.

On periodic Tuesday nights throughout the year, it’s time for Gospel praise music, featuring the music of the VU Gospel Choir. The service features traditional and contemporary gospel music and praise. Why not join the choir for an additional experience?
