JOIN THE 'PIECE CORE'
Yes, it’s a play on words.  We all know about the Peace Corps, but VU now has its own version right here on campus called the “Piece Core.”

Piece Core is the new name for residential ministry program of the Chapel of the Resurrection.  Taking a cue from their new t-shirts sporting a puzzle in the shape of a cross, residential ministers “peace it together for you.”  That is, they offer the peace of Christ through conversation, prayer, worship or simply being available to anyone who needs a listening ear.

The “Core” is central to education at VU and the “Piece Core” is central to promoting spiritual peace and helping everyone to piece together what’s going on in their lives.

While each Piece Core member is responsible for ministering within a specific residence hall, all Piece Core members work together to promote “peace” on campus.  You may find them in the Blue Room at Lank in their pajamas talking about homesickness or in the Union talking with someone in the fireplace lounge.  Look for them in the library during finals, or helping with a service project on campus.

You don’t need to get a passport or shots to travel with our Piece Core.  Just check out their display case in the Union or go to Valpo Piece Core (the new res mins) on Facebook to learn more about your fellow student servants. Then, watch for more information about the campus puzzle we will be putting together soon.  Everyone is invited to be a “peace” of the Valpo puzzle.  Help us piece (peace) it all together for our community.
