A special message from your VU Alumni Association ...

Dear Fellow Alumni,

When I recall or visit Valpo, I tend to focus on the Chapel of the Resurrection, the awe-inspiring sight of it rising from the center of campus. The stained glass is immaculate in its color and the stories it tells. Is it the same for you? Half a century ago, O.P. Kretzmann’s visions for a new campus with the chapel at its center began to flourish. Today, the chapel is the centerpieceof a revitalized and growing campus, overlooking a new library (the Christopher Center), the VU Center for the Arts, and now the new Harre Union.

Fifty years later, it is time to celebrate the anniversary of one of the largest collegiate chapels in the world—our Chapel of the Resurrection. On behalf of the VU Alumni Association, I invite you to come home to Valpo. Join us in the celebration, remember what VU was like during your time, and see the remarkable changes to the new campus.

Homecoming and Reunion Weekend 2009 will take place October 9–11. Do not miss this chance to relive your Valpo memories and catch up with friends. If your class year ends in four or nine, then you, like me, will be celebrating a reunion (this year marks my 25th).

On behalf of the VU Alumni Association, I encourage you to come and take advantage of all that the weekend has to offer. We cannot wait to see you.

Best regards,
Michael Rickman ’84
VU Alumni Association President
